Sunrisers secure IPL play-off spot after washout
Persistent rain caused the abandonment of the IPL match between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Gujarat Titans at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday.
The home side had the opportunity to confirm their place in the play-off matches with victory today but, as it transpired, they qualified anyway with the ‘no result.’
The Sunrisers can still finish second if they win their final match against Punjab on Sunday and the Rajasthan Royals, currently in second place, lose their last match.
The Gujarat Titans were eliminated from play-off contention when their last game was rained out against the log leaders, Kolkata Knight Riders.
